Merkle (merkleinc.com), a leading technology-enabled, data-driven performance marketing agency, announced the appointment of Sean Creamer to executive vice president and chief financial officer. Creamer will lead Merkle’s global finance group; providing strategic and financial insight to the business and helping prioritize opportunities that drive value creation. Reporting to Chairman and CEO David Williams, Creamer will also join Merkle’s board of directors.
“Merkle’s tremendous growth and its position as a front-runner in the industry is a testament to the hard work and impressive leadership of the executive team,” said Creamer. “I am excited to join the Merkle team and continue to maximize the efficiencies that drive the company’s enterprise growth at scale.”
Creamer brings comprehensive experience in working with public companies in a variety of industries and has particular expertise in mergers and acquisitions, where he has successfully maintained high performance while leading teams through transformative change. Prior to joining Merkle, he served as CFO for The Madison Square Garden Company. During his tenure there, he co-managed the tax-free separation of the company’s network business from its sports and entertainment businesses. Before that, Creamer spent nine years with Arbitron Inc., a media and marketing information services firm, where he was charged with overseeing all operational and financial activities for the company’s core businesses. He was also responsible for the execution of the company's global cross-platform, digital, and mobile growth strategies. He served as chief financial officer, then chief operating officer, and ultimately chief executive officer of Arbitron, where he ultimately led the process and negotiated the favorable terms of Arbitron’s acquisition by the Nielsen Company. Before joining Arbitron, Creamer served as SVP and CFO of Laureate Education, Inc.
“Sean’s strong qualifications and strategic mindset make him the perfect fit to take our financial management to the next level as Merkle’s CFO,” said David Williams. “With his expertise in all facets of financial operations, Sean brings a balanced ability to develop and execute strategies that will drive growth and competitive advantage for the company on a global level.”
