Merkle EMEA ranks #9 in Econsultancy’s Top 100 Digital Agencies 2019

Merkle (www.merkle.com), a leading technology-enabled, data-driven performance marketing agency, has moved into the top ten of this year’s Econsultancy Top 100 Digital Agencies Report, just four years since it launched its EMEA regional business.

Merkle came in at number nine in the overall list with a 21% growth in fee income on the back of new wins including Legal & General, Hostel World and Intel. The company was also fifth in the full service and marketing agencies table.

According to the report, the top ten agencies in the list continue to dominate fee income vs the rest of the top 100 – and are a key growth driver. The average fee income of those agencies ranked in the Top ten is approximately 12 times higher than the rest of the Top 100 (£185m for the Top 10 compared to £15.3m for agencies 11-100). And the top 10’s total fee income accounts for 57% of the fee income of the industry as a whole.

Merkle is a data-driven, technology- enabled, global performance marketing agency. Over the past year Merkle has acquired Namics, a full-service digital agency in Switzerland, Germany and Serbia; opened an office in Edinburgh; launched its people- based data platform, DataSource, in the UK and; expanded its in-housing solution with a new ad-tech consultancy. Merkle has become a founding partner of Conscious Advertising Network, supporting its ambition to tackle unethical practice in the industry, including ad fraud, consent and fake news.

Econsultancy’s Annual Report, now in its 17th year, is a prestigious industry publication, providing comprehensive analysis, commentary on the state of the digital industry and definitive listings to help businesses choose the right partner.  The report lists the Top 100 Digital Agencies ranked by their fee income from digital activities in the UK.

“Our EMEA business is going from strength to strength with 2,200 talented people and consistent double digit growth. To have made it into the Top Ten Digital Agencies in just four years is outstanding and a testament to the great work our people are doing to help our clients adopt a people-based marketing approach. I am incredibly proud of everything we have achieved in this region,” said Michael Komasinski, President EMEA.
