Introducing the Conscious Advertising Network

Introducing the Conscious Advertising Network

In response to the need for collective action on advertising abuse, the Conscious Advertising Network (CAN) has been formed. Merkle | Periscopix are proud to say that we have been heavily involved from the outset and that we will continue to be a core member.

Supported by ISBA, CAN is a voluntary coalition of over 30 organisations (and growing!) with a mission to stop advertising abuse through highlighting the conscious choices that both advertisers and agencies can make to ensure good practice. CAN aims to enable ethics to catch up with the rapid technological advancements seen in all sectors of the advertising industry; advancements that mean now more than ever, brands, agencies and adtech are perfectly positioned to effect a conscious positive change to the way they operate and the content they produce, to create communication that is better for all.

CAN has developed a set of six manifestos and aims to get the principles of each embedded into every UK agency brief: Anti Ad-Fraud, Diversity, Informed Consent, Hate Speech, Children’s Wellbeing, and Fake News. More information can be found at www.consciousadnetwork.org.

We at Merkle | Periscopix and the 30+ other leading organisations invite you to make a difference and take steps to safeguard and grow our industry in a responsible and conscious way. We invite you to join other leading brands in becoming a member of the Conscious Advertising Network, and to become an advocate for taking action against supporting those who enable or indulge in ad-fraud, hate speech, and fake news. We challenge you to be industry leaders in diversity, informed consent, and in children’s wellbeing.
