David Williams, Chairman and CEO of Merkle, Inc. will be presented with the JDRF Greater Chesapeake and Potomac Chapter’s Honoree Award at the Hope Gala on November 14 at the Hilton, Baltimore. As the Hope Gala’s Honoree, David Williams will be recognized for his commitment to the community and, specifically, JDRF's mission to end type 1 diabetes.
JDRF is honored to be partnering with Mr. Williams and Merkle to raise much-needed research funds that will help those with diabetes live longer, healthier lives and will ultimately cure this complex and grueling disease.
The award for Mr. Williams will be presented during the event by the Hope Gala’s Board President, John Whalen, Senior Managing Director, M&T Investment Banking Group.
“Merkle has a long history of passionate work in support of health charities. Over the past decade, we have raised significant funds for research and support of many great causes. It is truly a privilege to champion the great work of JDRF among my peers at Merkle,” said David Williams, chairman and CEO, Merkle. “As a team, we have banded together in support of JDRF in the fight against type 1 diabetes, and we will continue to hold the organization near to our hearts until this debilitating disease is stamped out. On behalf of all 3,000 of my Merkle colleagues, I thank you for this award.”
More than 550 guests are expected to attend this year’s annual Hope Gala in support of JDRF. Proceeds from the event will go towards research and treatments of type 1 diabetes. Last year’s gala event raised more than $750,000 for the Greater Chesapeake and Potomac Chapter.
According to Kathy Burk, Associate Executive Director, the black tie event will include a cocktail reception; a multi-course dinner; silent and live auctions; JDRF’s signature Fund A Cure program, during which contributions may be made directly to research; and DJ Chris Kopec. Laura Johnson and Catherine Whalen are serving as the Gala’s chair, and Denise Koch will serve as the event’s Master of Ceremonies.
Individual tickets are $300 each and table sponsorships are available.
