Job Description:

Ugam, a Merkle company and part of Dentsu, is looking for Senior Analyst (Private Brand)

This role (remote now) is responsible to dive into one of the biggest retailer’s (client’s) Global Brand & Product Development team’s data and identify problems and insights that can help improve product quality. You will be deployed to our cross-functional product teams and be responsible for connecting team members with data/analytics to help define problem, make decisions about product development, monitor/measure results & KPIs, set goals, and communicate results.

In this role, you will leverage tools like Tableau, SQL to acquire, analyze, and present data. You will do data deep dives to find meaning in the data, you will answer questions of the day, collaborate with the engineering team to translate the insight or voices of customer into product specifications.

Role: Senior Analyst

Key Responsibilities:

Delivery Management:

  • (40%) Serve as a data/analytics resource on a cross-functional product team; work includes, but not limited to: query writing; defining & documenting data/reporting requirements; analyze complex problems
  • (40%) Data mining of online review comments to generate insight of customer pain point, present data/findings in a meaningful and easily digestible way to engineering team to be incorporated in the product development and quality improvement
  • (10%) Develop new data insight that can help identify the customer dis-satisfaction
  • (10%) Support the business through ad-hoc inquiries and tasks
  • Present insights and recommendations to non-technical audiences and explain the benefits and impacts of the recommended solutions
  • Design and build insight-driven tools, reports, and dashboards that provide real-time and easy access to customer feedback across the organization
  • Collaborate with business partners and cross-functional teams, requiring effective communication skills, building relationships, and focus on understanding the overall business area being supported
  • Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis and data mining to tell the story behind numbers and derive actionable insights
  • Provide an accurate level of effort estimates and delivery plans for projects and initiatives.
  • Owns and support projects end-to-end. Proactively communicate status, issues, and risks to management.
  • Collaborate and partner with teams across organization to understand their needs in analytics


  • Bachelor’s in computer science (preferred), Statistics (preferred), any other engineering
  • Preferred Master of Science in Statistics, Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, and related fields)
  • Preferred MBA with Concentrations in Analytics related fields


  • 4-6+ years in analytics & consulting services, demonstrating relevant experience in data engineering, analytics, and data extraction & automation
  • 3-4 years of experience in creating data insights, actionable recommendations and working on end-to-end on complex data projects
  • Experience with creating reports, visualizations, and dashboards and communicating results and analyses to technical and non-technical audience
  • Experience with analytical and statistical modelling or forecasting
  • Comfortable working autonomously and proactively, identifying new opportunities and reaching out to partners with new insights


  • 3-5 years of experience working with Python and analysing large datasets; exposure in statistical modelling using Python/R/SAS/any other math libs
  • 1-3 years of experience working with Hadoop and Spark SQL; Proficiency in complex querying, joining, and manipulating raw datasets for analysis using SQL
  • Good understanding with statistical modelling techniques - Linear Regression, Logistic regression, Bayesian regression, Pooled Regression
  • Good data story telling skills using PowerPoint. Proficiency in Tableau (or PowerBI / Spotfire / Looker)
  • Experience with Exploratory Data Analysis


  • Must have exceptional and effective communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Must be pro-active and determined (Initiates action, Analytical and problem solver)

The anticipated salary range for this position is $100K-$130K/annum.
