Job Description:

Merkle Sokrati seeks to hire a Media Data Analyst who will work on innovative problem statements, with data platforms like Google Ads, BigQuery, DV360, Campaign Manager, Facebook, etc. and in house data sources.  

As Media Data Analyst you will work closely with clients and marketing teams to understand their business needs and supporting them to improve their analytics strategy, you’ll use web analytics data, media data and an in-depth knowledge of Merkle capabilities to identify efficiencies and untapped growth opportunities.   

Your role will involve designing and deploying mapped data sets across a client’s marketing channels, analysing and generating insights from their data, and driving positive change across their business. We use a variety of tools to facilitate this, including Google Big Query, Google Marketing Platform, Facebook, Adobe alongside our own proprietary tools. 

Above all, you will seek to understand how prospective customers engage with marketing and use these insights to help optimise the media they invest in and align their cross-channel strategy.  

Our Media Data Analysts work across a spectrum of different tasks within the business be it modelling data, analysing it, manipulating, interpreting, or looking for insights within it to impact marketing campaigns. 

Life as a Media Data Analyst at Merkle Sokrati: 

You could be involved in any of the below: 

  • Analysing media data to build data-driven attribution models to support marketing decisions and budget allocation. 

  • Creation and activation of audiences, using a combination of client’s 1st and 3rd party data   

  • Development of data strategies to enable cross-platform analysis and measurement.  

  • Building/maintaining marketing mixed models and using these to forecast & optimize marketing performance  

  • Gather, understand and document detailed business requirements using appropriate tools and techniques  

  • Liaise with the stakeholders to fully understand data content  

  • Identify, evaluate and implement external services and tools to support data validation and cleansing 

  • Leading small teams of analysts on client projects with responsibility for driving the analytics roadmap

Qualifications:

What we are looking for – 

  • Someone who is inquisitive and has great problem-solving skills. 

  • 1-2 years of core analytics experience and strong knowledge in at least one the following – python, R, SQL 

  • Graduation in some quantitative discipline 

  • Experience working on marketing data is plus 

  • You believe in analysis outputs more than tools being used 

  • The ability to engage clients, instigate and monitor change management within the organisation as needed   

  • Experience working with clients/cross functional teams 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills  

  • Excellent attention to detail  

  • A desire for continuous knowledge improvement
