Job Description:

Role Overview:

The purpose of this role is to be responsible for understanding, planning, and coordinating the product development teams’ technical implementation of initiatives deemed key to compliance with legal, privacy, and contractual requirements. 

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
  • Builds and maintains relationships with Business Owners, Product Managers and Subject Matter Experts, business and technical, to define, analyze, prioritize and refine business requirements into an implementable backlog
  • Represents the legal and contracts teams, as their stakeholders, prioritizing the backlog with their input, to realize their requirements
  • Works with stakeholders to ensure goals, outcomes, requirements, and measures of success are documented in sufficient detail to support the development teams’ delivery
  • Liaises with Product Management and other Product Owners to agree the scope, their contribution to and dependencies for every iteration and approach to delivery
  • Communicates the product vision and backlog to all stakeholders to show the prioritization of key development initiatives
  • Ensures timely delivery of feature/functionality changes and additions needed for legal and contractual compliance, including the creation and update of documentation evidencing compliance
  • Delegating tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them
  • Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
  • Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
  • Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needed to address changes such as requirements, staffing, or funding
  • Communicating with executives or the board to keep the project aligned with their goals
  • Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected
Qualifications:
  • Experienced running internal technical projects, including managing team member activities across multiple departments
  • Experienced with (or comfortable with) collecting and representing requirements from privacy, compliance, and/or and legal teams to product development teams
    • Ideal candidate can demonstrate familiarity with evolving privacy law changes, including but not limited to California Consumer Privacy Act, California Privacy Rights Act, Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act.

Additional Information:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $113,000 – $174,500. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.  A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
