Job Description:

Merkle NE is creating a new role as Practice Lead within Programme Management. The Practice Lead is the most senior delivery position within the region, providing depth of technical delivery experience with the responsibility to cultivate, organize and elevate the craft of project management across the agency.

The Practice Lead has agency-wide responsibilities as the ambassador for all delivery processes and practices. It is the Lead’s role to improve delivery methodologies, reporting, knowledge sharing, to provide guidance and support to account and project teams and to empower teams to deliver the best solutions for our clients.

Daily tasks as Practice Lead, Programme Management

  • Reviewing project progress and identifying risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle
  • Helping and overseeing project managers with technically challenging work through to completion
  • Establish day to day relationships with key clients’ senior stakeholders and be a point of client escalation and issue management
  • Can roll up their sleeves and support project delivery where required
  • Review documentation prepared by the PM team and provide feedback
  • Track projects to ensure they meet their expected budget, time and scope
  • Successfully negotiates timelines, scope and budget across portfolio of clients, including changes throughout projects and coaching of project managers with their techniques
  • Help teams define and scope solutions that achieve the clients’ goals
  • Works with the Operations and business teams around staffing, ensuring all projects have the right delivery resources
  • Supports sales activities that require technical programme management skills

Qualifications:

What are we looking for in you

  • 8+ years experience in a Project Management role in a digital environment
  • 5+ years senior client facing experience
  • Experience successfully delivering large and complex digital programs of work
  • Can demonstrate technical delivery expertise
  • Lives the agile principles and values, preferably certified in agile
  • The preferred candidate is experienced in Agile Coaching 
  • Experienced in a number of project management methodologies
  • Attention to detail with strong scope and change management skills
  • Strong leadership skills and advanced problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience managing developers and creative teams
  • Excellent judgement on best action to take
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Takes ownership and responsibility for work, is proactive not reactive
  • Positive can do attitude
