Merkle (www.merkle.com), a leading technology-enabled, data-driven performance marketing agency, announced the appointment of Coleen Kuehn to chief media officer. In this role, Kuehn will be responsible for the leadership of Merkle’s media portfolio across search, display, social, and performance media as well as overseeing communications strategy capabilities.
“Merkle is uniquely positioned as the agency of the future, and one of the few agencies that can make people-based marketing a reality. With a number of recent high-profile media wins and the backing of the Dentsu Aegis Network, it’s an exciting time to join this high caliber team. I look forward to tapping into Merkle’s innovative platform and solutions to drive value for our growing roster of clients,” said Kuehn.
Kuehn is a seasoned executive with 20 years of experience in marketing, strategic planning, digital media, and technology. As an innovative and results-driven leader, Kuehn was named one of Advertising Age’s esteemed “Women to Watch.” She began her career in marketing and product development roles for American Express and The Coca-Cola Company after receiving an MBA from University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.
Prior to joining Merkle, Coleen served as president at Mediavest, a global agency, where she was responsible for strategic oversight, integrated solutions, and client adoption of new technologies. Prior to Mediavest, Kuehn held key leadership roles at Havas and MediaCom.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Coleen to lead Merkle’s expanding media practice,” said Craig Dempster, global services leader of Merkle. “She brings deep expertise and a future-oriented spirit that fits Merkle’s culture and is essential to our clients’ success.”
Over the past few years, Merkle’s long-established leadership has proactively complemented its team with seasoned C-level talent from frontrunners such as Accenture, Havas, iCrossing, Omnicom, Razorfish, and SapientNitro. Kuehn is the most recent high-visibility hire for Merkle as the agency continues to build a bench of visionary senior executives with deep industry experience.
