The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) is the key client facing member of the Data Platforms team responsible for understanding the business requirements and driving the corresponding functional integrity of the solutions that Merkle implements for clients across multiple industries. The BSA is a liaison between the client's marketing and business organizations and other Merkle team members involved in design, development, and testing. The BSA works closely with Client's marketing and IT stakeholders to understand the business objectives and use cases to reflect the necessary data availability, ingestion, transformation, enhancement, identification and connectivity to enable those use cases. The BSA provides guidance to the Merkle implementation and production teams on behalf of the client and ensures solution business relevance and functional accuracy.

- P&L Ownership: Proactively identifies and drives potential areas of efficiency for individual, team and solution
- People Management: Provides leadership within client and internal teams leading to potential career advocacy responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- You will interface with the client and multi-disciplinary teams within Merkle (Business Intelligence, Information Technology, Database and Data Warehouse Developers, Project Managers) to support the solution delivery process
- You'll support managements of the scope of services for the assigned account
- You'll partner with client services to cultivate relationships with key stakeholders for an account
- You'll support Solution Success Leads in driving client satisfaction and client value perception through excellence in services delivery
- You'll actively participate in account level planning and business review discussions (internal or external)
- You will synthesize complex and contradictory information into concise, readable, unambiguous requirements at multiple levels of detail
- You'll take primary ownership for written requirements specifications, from initial creation, through change management and solution delivery
- You'll collaborate with project leads to understand, define and deliver to schedule and scope, while accounting for cost trade-offs
- You'll accurately document requirements and acceptance criteria for Merkle solutions
- You'll perform analysis of data various use cases using data query tool sets
Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience with of data warehousing/database concepts including data query tools/languages (SQL, Python, and/or familiarity with cloud platform variations- i.e. Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, etc
- Knowledge of customer identity resolution concepts including data cleansing, matching and besting
- 5+ years experience with marketing and customer experience use cases including analytics, business intelligence and marketing campaign execution
- Data profiling and analysis and process flow diagramming
- Software Development Lifecycle (requirements, scoping, design, build, test, deploy, maintain)
- Fundamentals of project management/change management methodologies (waterfall and agile)
- Requirements management (elicitation, scoping, documentation, approval, traceability, validation, acceptance)
- Quality Assurance essentials (QA) (planning, test case definition, capturing and presenting results)
- Experience with work management tools (JIRA, Workfront, and/or other similar requirements or ticketing systems)
- Knowledge of Customer Data Platforms is a plus
- Familiarity with Salesforce Data Cloud, AI agents, Adobe AEP, AI tools is a plus
This position will be remote reporting to Capability Lead - Business Systems Analysis Director.
Additional information
The annual salary range for this position is $94,000 - $152,375. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law. Additionally, this position is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation.
