The challenge

In order to meet the high customer demands for individual solutions and personal advice, KOCH commissions the further development of its B2B2C shop. Short delivery times, quality and reliability are further core requirements of KOCH's customers.

The goal is to develop an innovative and future-proof platform that offers the specialised trade an optimised user experience. The main focus is on the ordering and order process, which is to be completely digitalised.

In addition to modernising the shop, Merkle is also relaunching the content management system (CMS) and the product information management system (PIM). The tasks range from strategy and marketing consulting to the conception and implementation of the system and the connection of various peripheral systems. Of course, Merkle supports the further development of the e-commerce application and offers security for optimal operation with the service.

Our approach

Scenario analysis

Based on market, customer and internal requirements as well as corporate goals, we define, structure and assess the necessary services. In doing so, we take into account potentials for future business models and the use of innovative technologies.

Implementation on SAP Hybris

We not only implement the online shop, but also cover the necessary CMS and PIM functionalities. The focus is on an optimal turnaround time for the customer from the order to delivery and payment.

B2B Accelerator & Assisted Service Module (ASM)

Field and office staff can thus take over and fill customers' shopping baskets.

Responsive Design

From the very beginning, we focus on "mobile first" so that the shop can be operated comfortably on all end devices.

ERP integration & logistics connection

We provide automated ordering and order processes.

Mobile Scan App

The mobile scan app allows efficient stock management and thus reordering of the required items easily and conveniently from a smartphone or tablet.

Seamless integration

The connection of various industry solutions (e.g. Comnorm) enables seamless integration with the customer's ERP.

From the quotation to delivery tracking

The platform convinces with a clear design, easy-to-understand descriptions and further information as well as a simple search function with detailed filter options. The information retrieval and product search is targeted, fast and thus very user-friendly. Users can choose between three languages - German, French and Italian.

Pricing logic and individual advice

A customer-friendly pricing logic ensures order-related prices at all times. The ASM enables the sales department to support customers even better in the purchasing process. This saves time and enables individual advice.

Optimised customer area with new shop search

Thanks to the optimised myKOCH customer area, users can view and better manage their enquiries, orders and invoices in one central place. The new search function in the shop makes it easier to find the approximately 80,000 products. As a result, the orders are correctly executed in all individual process steps.
