Vanessa Diaz

Senior Director, Marketing Automation, Transamerica

Vanessa Diaz is a technology leader with 18 years of experience spanning industries from Wall Street, Manufacturing, Healthcare and Financial. During her tenure as a technology executive, she has conceived, designed, and implemented data strategies, platforms and teams with a focus on optimization, automation and operational efficiencies. She was instrumental in the design and development of many of the firm’s business intelligence, platform development and self service capabilities.

Currently she heads the Marketing Automation team at Transamerica where she oversees the architecture and implementation of all operational and execution support systems that marketing uses to generate, activate, track and automate campaigns. Here, she started and leads a Women’s Impact Network ERG, to provide a platform for all employees that welcomes diversity and inclusion.

Vanessa is a Couragion role model, a STEM career literacy and workforce development app, helping to motivate and inspire students to pursue STEM pathways. She donates her time and expertise to multiple education and mentoring organizations and is an advocate for underrepresented students to pursue STEM competencies and careers. She was selected one of fifteen women making 2018 the year of leading Latinas by Hispanic Executive, and one of four women leading in STEM. Most recently she was a keynote speaker at the Women’s Leadership Summit in Denver and served as a panelist, judge or mentor for other notable events.  

She holds a BS Engineering: MIS degree, and an MBA in Finance from University of Oklahoma and NYU Stern School of Business.
