In October 2021, Ghaith decided to dive into the world of Salesforce. He joined a 6-week course at RefugeeForce (Blue Road Academy) through a friend who took this course in 2019. RefugeeForce's mission is to create a more diverse and inclusive work environment where opportunities are equal for all. They support newcomers to launch their careers within the Salesforce ecosystem. Merkle also sees the talent of this group and the importance of giving everyone equal opportunities. This is why Merkle is a Recruitment Partner of RefugeeForce and came in touch with Ghaith. How he experienced his first months at Merkle and how he is doing now? Read his story below.
The first impression
On June 28, 2022, I first came into contact with Merkle employees. I attended a Salesforce live event where I spoke with some people from Merkle. The way they interacted was impressive. I decided to read up on Merkle and gather more information. When I read about the reputation and innovation within the industry, I knew Merkle would be a perfect fit for me. I grabbed the opportunity to be part of such a well-regarded and innovative organization with both hands. I knew this role was a good fit for my skills and experiences. I was eager to join the team and help them achieve great success.
Continue to learn and develop
Merkle has a strong culture centered on innovation, excellence and collaboration. The organization's core values are strongly embedded in the way we work. Employees are encouraged to be innovative and push the boundaries of what is possible. Continuous learning and development are also very important within Merkle. I believe Merkle will continue to encourage its employees to keep learning and developing themselves.
Together we make the difference
I also noticed that teamwork is key within Merkle. Employees work together to achieve goals. This creates a nice feeling of camaraderie and support from each other. To foster this, we have regular team-building activities, events, cross-functional collaborations and open communication channels. Also, diversity, equality and inclusion are very important within Merkle. Merkle believes a diverse workforce is crucial to achieving the goals. As such, Merkle is committed to creating an environment where all employees feel respected, valued and included.
My role as Salesforce Consultant
I work as a Salesforce consultant in the customer team of VodafoneZiggo. Here I mainly work with Leads United team stakeholders. Together we identify solutions and implement them using the Salesforce platform. This includes researching features, testing their functionality and determining how best to deploy them to meet the specific needs of each requirement. As a Salesforce team, we are responsible for understanding the client's objectives. We make recommendations on how Salesforce can be deployed to meet those goals. We also implement solutions that we design ourselves and configure in Salesforce. In addition, we work with other Salesforce center of excellence teams to create visualizations based on customer data. In this way, we make optimal use of VodafoneZiggo's Salesforce platform.
Every day is different
What do I like about my job? Every day is different! I usually start my day by checking my mailbox, over a cup of coffee, of course. Then I make notes that I use during meetings with my colleagues. During these meetings, we coordinate tasks and discuss progress. The rest of the day I work on the tasks and projects assigned to me. These are always different, which is what makes it so challenging and fun! We work together as a team, so I enjoy helping my colleagues. I also spend time on development. For example, I prepare for certification exams to further expand my skills and knowledge. Merkle also gives you time for this. At the end of the day, I check the progress of my tasks and make plans for the next day.
Are you also interested in a job at Merkle? Good news! There are some awesome vacancies open, such as senior Salesforce consultant! Take a look! And maybe you will be Ghaith's new colleague soon.
