The display landscape is one of the more complex systems for online advertising. With ad servers, ad networks, demand side platforms, ad exchanges, and all the variations in between it gets hard to keep track of how they fit together.
For a long time we’ve referenced a number of popular graphs and flowcharts from industry leaders to try to explain all the players and possibilities for online display advertising. However, in using it as a teaching tool, we realized it is hard to understand without annotation or someone to walk you through it. In an effort to provide a simple, free standing explanation of the most common pieces of display, we developed the following infographic as part of our V4.1 2013 Dossier.
