Q4 2014 Findings: 

  • The fourth quarter of 2014 saw a strong start and finish to the holiday shopping season with retailers ultimately seeing 20% higher revenue from paid search
  • Bing and Yahoo outpaced Google in paid search growth, thanks in part to Yahoo’s deal to become the default search engine for Firefox, as well as the rapid growth of Bing Product Ads.
  • Mobile continued to play a larger role in driving traffic for all channels, producing 42% of organic search visits and 52% of social media referrals.
