CPA Australia (CPAA)

Challenge

The team had to deliver an enterprise-level re-platform for a new client, in ~6 months, kicking everything off remotely while validating hundreds of pages of previous research the client had invested in. The system that the client had invested in was itself untested in the real world and had never been integrated in the way it needed to be.

Over 200 stakeholders would be engaged during the course of the project in various global markets. The build needed to integrate information from a number of sources making the technical requirements highly complex.

The client itself was going through a rebrand at the same time which would impact the entirety of the design work. No Design library existed meaning the team had to design, validate & build everything from scratch.

As a business CPAA is successful when its members are successful. The digital platform is the main touchpoint for this & with the existing platform being years old, CPAA had to make significant improvements.

All of this started at the height of the second Victoria lockdown.

Approach

A team of 41 were deployed across the project utilizing a dual-track agile approach across Design, Development & Data teams.

Design work focused on designing for the entire experience, from member portal through to learning material. Further design work focused on designing for scale through the delivery of a Design Language System that CPAA could utilise in further content. Creating a single view of the customer through Adobe Experience Platform. Teams were blended with client developers & solution architects working as one team.

Results

Isobar delivered this re-platform on time and under budget to resounding client feedback. Numerous pages were created with various components as well. The team conducted a number of meetings with over 200 stakeholders across the course of the project – entirely remotely.

World-first technical integrations were achieved with Sitecore 10 & AEM working in tandem. Federated search was implemented bringing in disparate information across multiple platforms.

Additionally, the team was able to help redesign the audit process for CPAA, create a strategy & roadmap for a sub-brand, deliver a redesigned member portal & are now moving into stage 2 of continuous delivery. A personalisation roadmap utilising Sitecore and Adobe products – something is never done before. The creation of an accelerator code block means future projects in a similar vein could be delivered even faster without jeopardising quality.

Keys to success

  • The blended Isobar & client-side teams were able to build true phycological safety to operate fully agile in order to deliver this project.
  • Isobar’s position as a Dentsu brand meant that there was access to subject matter experiences across all facets of CPAA’s business
  • Isobar Australia is recognized globally as a leading partner for Sitecore & Adobe meaning the knowledge to complete a project of this scale lives entirely in house
  • CPAA were open and forth coming with the challenge at hand and were ready to throw themselves into helping solve these challenges.
